Statement

I am a vibrant and textured oil painter who has a passion to create art that will bring back special memories from earlier times.Painting brings me joy and relaxation!! During my 10-yearart journey I’ve really grown to appreciate the learning process. I love watching and learning from another artist. For me each piece is a challenge, and it is interesting to see how it will develop. Having a passion for history, it is my desire to preserve history in my paintings. I love the deep thoughts and memories my art provokes. It is my hopes that I can spark a memory or two for my viewers as well. 

Biography

Linda is a self-taught artist, who grew up in the rural area of Southside Virginia. She earned an Associate Arts and Sciences degree in general studies from Southside Virginia Community College, before continuing her studies at Longwood University in Education and History. Her passion to create began early in life and was inspired from time spent on her grandparent’s farm and from her creative grandmother, who taught and shared many talents with her.  She studied art in throughout high school and first fell in love with the process of oils in 2010. She was inspired  by artist, Eldridge Bagley’s paintings because of the history he shares. Her desire grew to continue to learn and grow, enjoying the process of learning online with many other artists and by attending workshops both online and abroad with Artist, Roisin O’farrell.  Having an interest in history and a family dating back over 200 years from her home area, She has a desire to capture not only her childhood memories but the farming lifestyle  and the details once lived by her ancestors.  She is  inspired by God’s beautiful nature and often focuses on it with florals, landscapes and still life paintings. Her goal is to paint memorable moments in vibrant and textured oils and mastering light and shading in a representational style to be enjoy for many years to come. She has  exhibited solo and in group shows with many of her works being held in private collections in a variety of states.
